At her first event as the new Northwestern Regional Druid, Caitlin ní Manannan represented Ár nDraíocht Féin at a reception given by the Northern California Local Council of the Covenant of the Goddess (NCLC CoG) for the new Executive Director of the United Religions Initiative, Victor Kazanjian. An invite-only gathering on July 27, 2014 at the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists Fellowship Hall, representatives from all over the regional Bay Area came together, in welcoming and familiarizing this new ally with the local pagan community.
Victor Kazanjian has has experience working with Pagan groups during his time as Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life, Dean of Intercultural Education, Co-Director of the Peace & Justice Studies Program, and Director of the the India Program at Wellesley College in Massachusetts. The United Religions Initiative is the world's largest grass-roots interfaith organization, with over 660 local interfaith groups in 86 countries (and growing fast!). Pagans have been involved in the URI since its planning meetings in the 1990s.
Many long time organizations were present, along with some new ones: OBOD, the Church of All Worlds, the Fellowship of the Spiral Path, Hrafnar, Open Source Order of the Golden Dawn, Come As You Are Coven and the Coru Cathubodua Priesthood; too many to list individually. Several representatives overlapped into other groups with membership or past participation of all the local Pagan organizations.
