Greetings, dear members of the Northwest Region!
Who did you honor during this season of the Ancient Wise? Ancestors of blood? Of place? Of heart? Or maybe D: all of the above?
How are you preparing your hearth and your home for the cold and dark of impending winter?
Congrats to BJ Rogers and Larrea Tridentata, ADF for their mention in the Las Vegas Sun! Has your Grove or PG received local media attention? If so, please let us know so we that can share it with the rest of the Region!
Our ADF ritual for PantheaCon 2015 was approved, as was our hospitality suite. Check out the little blurb below for more information, including multiple ways in which you can get involved. The suite is self-supporting, and we rely on your generosity; our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributes toward another year of ADF's PCon hospitality!
Sierra Madrone Grove, ADF will begin accepting proposals for workshops at Eight Winds 2015 in December; I'll update this post with the actual date once it has been set. Eight Winds will be held in Northern California on 23-26 July next year and there will be no meal plan, but the event center will offer food; more info in the days to come.
My gratitude to Janet Furr-Kalpakoff and Jonathan Levy/Columbia PG for being regular contributors to the Blog; your participation is very much appreciated! The Challenge is going to take a time out for this edition, and will be returning for the Winter Equinox edition. :)
Are you subscribed to the ADF NW Region mailing list? Did you know that if you prefer a forum environment, the same conversations can be found here (must be signed in to the ADF site to view)? While we do have a Facebook group, it is not considered secure for any important ADF communications due to both the lack of security and the ability to edit conversations after the fact. Since items of note will be found on the mailing list either before or instead of being seen on Facebook (such as sensitive local ADF election information), it's not a bad idea to be subscribed. You can add yourself, easy as can be, by going to ADF's Mailing Lists page (you'll need to be signed in to the ADF site to see this one too), scrolling down a short bit to Regional Lists, and find the ADF-Northwest listing. If you are already subscribed, it will say "Change Your Subscription" and if not, it will say "Subscribe to ADF-Northwest?"; here you can join/leave the list, and choose if you want to receive every mail, a digest, or no mail at all (you can still follow the same conversations on the forum).
A most blessed Thanksgiving to you all! May you never lack reasons to be grateful, may the Kindred grant you traveling mercies if you will be celebrating away from home, and may They smile upon you and yours this upcoming holiday season!
Send your submissions for the Winter Solstice Blog to firstname.lastname@example.org, and be sure to include photo/writing credit, your location, and any desired captions, if applicable. Writings, photos and artwork, ritual reports, Grove/PG activities, and so on; show us your Druidy goodness! If you're a member of a Grove/PG in the NW, let us know that too; deadline for submissions will be Friday 2 January 2015, with the goal being to have the Blog up early the following week. Thanks in advance for your contributions!
