Beltane/May Day Edition 2015
I had a fantastic RD trip to Portland last month, where I got to help Red Cedar Protogrove, ADF celebrate their very first ritual ever, and the following day got to celebrate my first ever Hilaria with Columbia Protogrove, ADF. It was SO much fun to see how other groups do their rituals, which chants they use (some have the same words but different melodies, or vice versa, from what we're used to here in NorCal), and which Deities were being honored; I thank both groups for their hospitality, and for allowing me a bit in each rite! Wish I had gotten photos!
The ADF elections are complete for the year; congratulations to Rev. Sean Harbaugh of Sierra Madrone Grove for becoming our once-and-future NWRD! Other election results can be found here on the ADF site; may the winners embody the Virtues of ADF, and serve the Kindred and the folk well!
We delayed this Blog so that we could include the election results, so the Beltane/May Day reports for the region will be added if/as they're received. :)
There's big Eight Winds news to be had; check out the Eight Winds page for more information and directions for how to register. See you at Blue Mountain Event Center, July 23-26!
We've had some wonderful submissions for this edition; we received a lovely writing from our Deputy NWRD Karen La Fe, as well as one of frequent contributor Janet Furr-Kalpakoff's updates from Gaia's Gardens, and Jessica Hunt also took a moment to let us know what the Eternal Flame folks are up to in Chico. Thanks, ladies!
It has been an honor to serve as your NWRD for the past ten months, and I thank each and every one of you. To my sneaky nominators and my supporters: you humble me with your faith, and your support & encouragement; thank you SO much. To my critics: I thank you for feeding my drive to improve myself and my work and my relationship with the Kindred. And for those of you in between, I thank you just for being part of ADF! :)
Beltane blessings upon you and yours,
NWRD (for about five more minutes *g*)
