Pantheacon was once again amazing. This year's con seemed very calm and the culture in the ADF Hospitality Room was that of sanctuary and serenity. It was truly a team effort with many hands doing a bunch of work.
As per usual, I spent the vast majority of my time in the suite, but I wasn't alone. ADF Vice Druid Jon Drum made the trip from Detroit, and we had many good conversations. It is always a treat to spend time with my dear friend discussing the future of ADF and current matters. Victoria Selnes made sure we had plenty of great decorations, altar items, and snacks for our guests. She also spent lots of time with us helping maintain a welcoming atmosphere. Her service is invaluable. Bonnie Lin Cyr, a member from Boston worked very hard all weekend to make sure the suite was clean, snacks were out, and doing many more things than I can name. She also kept me focused, which is something I will be eternally grateful for. She is a bad ass. Kevin Brock, who provided great whiskey and worked the room with us all weekend and rarely left. Caitlin Hooper, our Regional Druid, provided some beautiful plants (including our axis mundi), made runs to get additional guest snacks, provided guidance, and wrote some really good ritual workings that promoted unity. She worked hard and that needs to be acknowledged.
Big thanks goes out to Jessica Hunt for putting the planning into motion most of the year, and laying the groundwork for a successful hospitality suite. Her vision was a critical piece to creating our space. I also want to give a shout out to John Hijatt for helping out before and during the con, being an ever calming voice, and an all around a awesome dude. Thank you sir for being my friend.
Other names to be mentioned (forgive me if I leave anyone out as it is not intentional): Sarah Nimmo for helping work the room on Saturday; Ashtore Ash for helping in the room throughout the weekend and helping with tear down; and Larry Brown for hanging out with us throughout the con and providing some delicious Irish whiskey and conversation. Other notable mentions who provided support throughout the con include: Amanda Vargas, Angela Bretney, Melissa Holland, and Ceana Hope.
Again, if I left anyone out it was not intentional. Thanks to all who worked so hard to bring our hospitality room together. I'm already excited for next year. ADF should be proud of the dedication the members of the Northwest put into making our organization excellent.
There was so many different workshops that it is hard to pick just one or two. Both ADF rites were meaningful and powerful. I was lucky enough to be part of each rite and work closely with our RD, Caitlin!
The ADF Hospitality Suite held several workshops from, Step by Step through the Core Order to Hospitality to 2 wonderful talks on the Morrighan by Morgan Daimler.
Jason Mankey held a wonderful workshop on Heavy Metal and the Occult. He is informative and fun! The most serious was Ritual Intensity with Shauna Aura Knight, let me just say, "Wow!" I can't wait to try some of her ideas at our next rite!
