This ritual’s focus was on the Goddess Brigid, Celtic goddess of fire (the forge and hearth), poetry, healing, childbirth, inspiration and unity. We also gave respect and offerings to the Goddesses Danu (Our Earth Mother), Morrigan (Our Protector) and Columbia (Our Local Goddess of Sovereignty) and the Gods Ogma (For Inspiration and Poetry) and Manannan Mac Lir (Our Gatekeeper).
*Out of deepest respect Columbia Protogrove sends deep wishes for the safe return of the Manannan Mac Lir statue that has been recently stolen in Ireland*
Grove leader Jonathan led our ritual and Grove Members David and Amber helped with invocations and conversation with lots of new faces!
We are in the early stages of working out the logistics of our Bardic choral group and received a lot of interest from guests in attendance! Thank You! We assure you there will be more info to come on our Bardic group as we finish the leadership details! *With that said, if you play any instruments or have a history in choir/music and would like to be involved please contact us, we would love to hear from you!*
We were honored that our Kindred Omen seer for this ritual was Friend of the Grove Ember Miller who drew from our Grove’s Tarot deck. Our Imbolc Omens were:
~ From The Ancestors: The Moon - "Follow your Dreams. Pay attention to your Dreams for inspiration. Focus on them. Follow them, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Oh, and don't forget to howl at that Moon. Let your voice be heard."
~ From The Nature Spirits: The Canoe - "Follow your path, but don't focus so much on the destination as other blessings and opportunities are leaping and jumping around you -- some just back there, off to the side, in your blind spot."
~ From The Shining Ones: Three of Fire - "Find and embrace your Passion. Acknowledge and respect the Passion in others. By all means be Passionate. Because without Passion, we're not human."
A wonderful Imbolc blessing to start us off in this New Year! We look forward to seeing everyone at our next public ritual Hilaria: Spring Equinox Ritual, where we will be focusing Gods and Goddesses of the Roman Hearth, but remember, all are welcome, bring your patrons with you! Columbia Protogrove aims to create a Pagan community of acceptance to all those Pagan and Non-Pagan alike with rituals constructed in ADF fashion. If you have any questions about our rituals both past and future or have any questions about our Grove, ADF (Ár nDraíocht Féin: A Druid Fellowship) or anything else, please don’t hesitate to contact us! Thank you again everyone for a wonderful ritual!
