Winter Solstice Edition 2013
Here is a link link to an article that covers many of the Winter Solstice celebrations around the world:
So, whatever you call this High Day...let us all know how and who you will be honoring, either via this blog, Facebook or the official email list!
I know many of us are celebrating with followers of other paths, myself as well. And it is usually right after traveling in bad weather, after working too much to meet the deadline to get away and after worrying too long about...all kinds of things. All that together can push me into saying something I might later regret but I stop. I remind myself that their "other" path is just as important to them, as ADF is to me. It is just different. Not better. Not less enlightened. Different. They may not find it important to question certain aspects of their path. It may not matter to them the cultural and/or historic details. I need to remember is what is most important to them, is the comfort it brings them. Not what I have to say about it. With all this in mind, when I am around my own relatives, I find it easier to respect their path. I think of it as part of Ancestor worship and the virtue of hospitality.
Changing the subject now to what's going on in ADF, the 2013 election cycle has begun. Each nomination is important. I firmly believe that everyone's vote is important. If you want change, you must participate. Otherwise, what you want isn't going to happen. To watch the progress use this link: https://www.adf.org/members/org/elections/2013/index.html
I've noted many people complaining that ADF's membership cost went up $5.00. I know, I know EVERYTHING keeps going up. I am just as frustrated as you are (probably). However, if ADF is going to survive, it has to cope with the increasing costs. [Click the Read More link to continue]
