Now for my Pantheacon highlights.
Bonnie and I arrived on Thursday and I was quickly met by Jason Mankey and a surprise bottle of 15 year Glenfiddich. We then checked in to the hotel (running in to Don Schulz in the process) and proceeded with Caitlin Hooper to Santa Cruz to hang for a few at the beach, pray and make offerings to Manannan, and collect waters for our ritual workings. We then returned to the hotel to help work on setting up the ADF Hospitality Suite. Later that night, the room was abuzz with what has become a yearly tradition of Thursday Night shenanigans. We were joined by Jason, Angus McMahan, April Verbatim, and many others. I broke away long enough to spend some time at the Coru Cathubodua suite chatting with Rynn Fox, and meeting Shield Maiden, Amelia Hogan, and many other awesome folks.
Friday started out slow put quickly picked up steam. The ADF con officially started out with our regional druid Caitlin Hooper leading a ritual dedicated to regional and organizational unity, and soon followed Bonnie's portable altar workshop. Later, Morgan Daimler gave an intriguing workshop on the Morrigan, and later that night I had the honor of calling Manannan during the consecration of the Temple of Morrigan at the Coru suite. What an amazing ritual. Later, Glenn Turner stopped by for a nice 45 minute chat. The evening capped with amazing discussion with Rynn Fox and Shauna Aura Knight.
On Saturday Jon Drum, Bonnie, and I had a wonderful chat over breakfast, and then back at the suite Drum and Victoria Selnes led a workshop on *ghosti. We then were treated to a fantastic bardic display by Thom the Bard. At 7pm, Stacey Weinburger and Drum led us on a powerful RDNA ritual calling for rain. I was later invited into the heathen suite by David Carlson to try some amazing scotch, before Bonnie and I headed up to Rynn Fox's scotch tasting. We spent about an hour hanging out with Jason and Ari Mankey, Jason Thomas Pitzl, Alley Valkyrie, and many others including Diana Paxson. It was a really fun time. I then spent the evening chatting with April Verbatim and friends, making it the topping to an amazing day.
On Sunday, I did my Step by Step Through the COoR workshop, and Bonnie filmed it. She is going to edit it and make it available for view to the membership. Morgan Daimler then presented Morrigan 2.0 and I was able to secure a signed copy of Stephanie Woodfield's new book. I also was able to visit with my awesome friend Susa Morgan Black. The suite ordered Chinese food, and we were able to share with many people on the second floor. The evening ended with some good chat with Shauna Knight, April Verbatim, and M Macha Nightmare. There were also awesome stop bys from Crystal Blanton, Stephanie Del Kjer, Oberon Zell, Jason, and Ari Mankey, Debra LoGuercio DeAngelo, and many others.
Monday wrapped up with the ADF ritual, which was widely attended by over 50 people. Pretty awesome for 9am on Monday. After the ritual, I said some goodbyes and packed our stuff. Bonnie and I began our long trip back to Sacramento with lunch at In & Out Burger.
All in all it was a great trip. The culture of the site and the con as a whole was calm and amazing. We had great people helping in the suite, and that made everything go smooth.
Numerous missed connections happened, and I hope to see those fine peeps next year.
